4.28.07 - Grant's Birthday Party

Today we had Grant's 4th Birthday party. It was wonderful to see many of our friends. We need to do this more often! It was a crazy day with all of the kids, but it looked like everyone was having a good time. Here is a photo of Grant and the sparkler on his cupcake. It was pretty funny because he kept trying to blow out the "candle."

The treasure hunt seemed to be the highlight of all of the day. They all seemed really into it and they were jumping up and down when they found a clue and then they ran to find the next one.

Many thanks to all who took the time out of their busy schedules to come to the party.

4.20.07 - NRG Battle of the Regions (BBQ Cookoff)

Well this year I joined the CBY cookoff team. I have helped David in the past and I thought what the heck I can be a kitchen hand! Well low and behold we won!!!! Out of all the Texas teams we won! Then we went on to the Regional competition, we had two hours to prepare our second dish and we did a mexican shrimp cocktail with a bacon wrapped grilled shrimp on a skewer. We served it up in a margarita glass dipped in Tony's. It was beautiful! We did not win the second round. (The first place team only won by one point) but we did have a beautiful dish and a wonderful time. It was so exciting! (I will add photos later!)

David made it home from Mississippi and I am so glad that he was not at work yesterday! Many thanks to all of those who called to see how he was doing. Sorry, not many people knew that he was out of town, because I don't post his trips prior to them happening here, so only the people that knew because they had heard directly were aware that he was not at the center yesterday.

4.17.07 - VT / Helping Hand

We want the Hokies in our lives to know that we are thinking of you in this difficult time.

Grant and Reid were taking turns on the go-cart and Reid got stuck in the grass, so Grant is helping him out with a little push. I thought it was too cute, and I had to capture the moment.

4.14.07 - Totally Texas Parade

This morning we went to see the parade in our community. It was really cute, they brought out the fire trucks, police cars, old cars, and the convertibles with all the people running for election. This is the really cool part of living in a small community on the outskirts of a large community (we get the best of both worlds). Grant had a wonderful time, it has been all that he has been able to talk about all day. Wow, that was a well spent hour!

4.7.2007 - It is that time again (Bluebonnets!)

The weather has been crummy so we drove to Brenham and took some photos, it was really cold (as you can tell from the red noses) and Dad said that it was snowing in Jewett today! Well we got a couple of photos in before the weather made another turn for the worse and started raining again. It was really nice day. I really hope that Grant appreciates all of the memories that we try to create with/for him. Oh yea, he is a male!

3.31.07 - Easter Egg Hunt (at Church)

David and Grant went to Church for the Easter Egg hunt. They had a great time hunting eggs, jumping on the moon walk and petting the bunnies that Pa made sure that we had because the lamb could not make it. It was a wonderful event from what I was told and they all made the best of it and held the event inside because of the poor weather.

3.28.07 - Surgery & Overnight Hospital Stay

I had surgery today and ended up spending the night in the hospital. I don't recommend it! Mom stayed home with Grant and he asked her to go stay with me and get David to come home to stay with him. He has this all figured out. We really appreciate all of our friends and family that have been there for us during this difficult time.
