11.22.06 - Zoo Trip

We took the boys to the Houston Zoo today! They really enjoy going and we were able to see Mac the new baby elephant. He was too cute!

11.16.06 - Bath Time

Grant loves to take baths in the new bathtub, he loves the jets and the new huge tub. We are having problems getting him to take a bath in his bathroom because he likes the "bubbles" so much.

10.31.06 - Halloween

We went to our old neighborhood to tric-or-treat because there is only one other occupied house on our street. It was really weird going to our old house! We had alot of fun with all our friends!

10.20.06 - New House

Well today we closed on our old house and our new house today! It was a big exciting day today and everything went well. here is a photo of the new place...

10.14.06 - Trip to the Zoo

The weather has been so nice so we decided to go to the Zoo. Reid and Aunt Paula decided to join us and we made a nice day of it. The baby elephant was not out, but they have two baby giraffes and they were too cute.

10.08.06 - Dewberry Farms

We went to Dewberry Farms with Danny, Patti, Emma, Hannah, Brian, Rachel & Kayla today. Grant & I had a great time and I caught some adorable shots. We looked for the perfect pumpkin, picked wild flowers, petted animals, had rubber ducky races, and played till we were all exhausted. It was a really fun day!

10.02.06 - Home Inspection

Well today they inspected our home. It has been a pretty hectic week and due to the stress from the other events I was extremely stressed out. I called Kaye to see if we had the results and we did not find out the list until Friday:

- Replace the A/C filter (yea, the disposable filter in the hall).
- Trim one tree brach from the front yard Queens' Palm.
- Insulate the pipe from the a/c unit to the house.

For a grand total of $5. I believe that we can handle this. I kept asking Kaye if she was joking, because I can't imagine asking for this, but what ever! We are now one more step closer to our dream house.

9.26.06 - Astro's Game

Gigi gave us tickets to the Astro's game and we had a wonderful time, it was a really exciting time because it was going to possibly be one of the Rocket's last games in Houston. We had a big suprise when they announced the Sunshine Kid and it was Hunter! We were cheering for him and everyone around us started cheering also. I snapped a photo of them that was on the screen.

9.25.06 - Rachel's Birthday

We went to the Melting Pot to celebrate Rachel's Birthday, last year it was cancelled because we were evacuating for Hurricane Rita. We had a wonderful time with our friends. While we were out they showed both our house and Danny & Patti's house to the guy that ended up putting a Contract on our house.

9.19.06 - Bubble Bath

Grant was taking a bubble bath and he was practicing Ducky Duttles from swimming lessons. I thought it was pretty cute how he was buried in all of the bubbles.

9.15.06 - Lazy Friday Morning

Grant looked so cute in his pj's with his cow and sippie cup. It isn't very often that he reminds me of a toddler anymore because he is more like a little boy now! I thought this was so cute because occasionally I catch him and he looks like my baby again.

8.28.06 - Sprinkler Fun

We broke out the new sprinkler toy and the boys had a blast playing in the water, and we had fun watching Grant and Reid playing together.

9.9.06 - Putting Our House On The Market

Well today we took a big step and put our house on the market, the house that we built together, came home from our Honeymoon to, brought Grant home from the hospital to...etc. (you get the picture). I am a big cheesy goober about this type of stuff. Our poor Realtor Kaye said that she had never been asked to take a picture when she put the for sale sign in the yard!

I even took a photo of them putting the lockbox on the door.

8.1.06 - Neighborhood Night Out 2006

Well here is a photo of Grant on the firetruck that was at our neighborhood night out party. Every year we have a really nice turnout for our neighborhood. It is such a nice time because the parents sit around and talk while the children play and enjoy the different activities.

8.6.06 - Fishing at the Pond with Cameron

It is fishing day at the pond again and I am taking Cameron (our Cousin) fishing with me. He is crazy about fishing and I wanted him to experience catching a big redfish. It is such a blast.

7.29.06 - Sheila & Sean's Party

Tonight we went to Sheila & Sean's house. They were having a little party, so we went down there. Grant & Lauren had a blast playing on her water slide. They were too cute.

7.22.06 - Doug & Lorri's Wedding

Today was the last day of VBS and after the service Doug and Lorri were married. It was a really crazy day with and unbelievable amount of excitement. We made 4 loaves worth of ham & cheese sandwitches the night before, and David had to go get the Wedding cake but it all went wonderfully.

7.20.06 - FCBC Vacation Bible School

Today is the first day of VBS For 2006. It was a great three day experience and once again our small chuch pulled together a big church style event. It was a really wonderful experience.

7.20.06 - The Elves & The Shoemaker UH Children's Theater

We went to see the Elves and the Shoemaker today it was reall neat, and Grant really enjoyed the play. The summer UH Children's theater is fantastic. It is a great way to introduce children to the theater without fearing their actions, becuase everyone expects some disturbances. I am so glad that Laura introduced us to this.

7.8.06 - Slip & Slide Fun

We went over to Kayla's house and played on the slip & slide they had a blast. It was really fun watching them figure it out and man these things have improved since the glorified rolls of plastic that we had. It is really funny watching them play on the same concept of toy that we played with as children.

7.7.06 - Astro's Game

We went to the Astro's game tonight and had a wonderful time. Grant went with Nana & Paw Paw and we went with Wende & Robert. We all had a great time. The had a wonderful fireworks show after the game and Grant was so excited.

7.4.06 - Fourth of July Celebration at Church

We spent the day celebrating the Fourth indoors at the Church. The rain would not stay away, so David cooked under the covered area, and all the events were moved indoors. We had a great time anyway, after all the cleaning was done we ran home where we could unload and run to see the fireworks. I haven't downloaded the Photos I took at the church yet but I will add as soon as I get them.

6.30.06 - Cinderella UH Childrens Theater

The University of Houston has a summer children's theater and they perform wonderful little plays for the children. Friday we went to see the closing performance of Cinderella, and it was fantastic, Grant was mesmerized the entire time. Afterwards he met Cinderella and he said "she was cute" when he was telling his dad the story. It ended up being a wonderful day!

6.24.06 - Swimming

We missed our swimming lesson on Thursday so we went to Raynel & Craig's house to go swimming. He is doing so well with his lessons and it looks like he will be swimming by the end of the year! We are so glad that he has made this much progress. He really enjoyed Ryan's new surfboard, and it was so nice of them to let him surf in the pool.

6.23.06 - Shopping

We have been passing around a stomach virus this week so we have not had anything to post about lately. Today Grant and I ventured out with Grandma. We were in Target and he requested that I take his photo with this Tiki and I thought it might turn out cute, why not!

6.15.06 - Zoobilee

We went to the zoo for Zoobilee the members only once a year party. It was alot of fun. The Moore's went with us and Grant had alot of fun with the girls. We were able to see alot of the animals up close, it was really neat.

6.11.06 - First Trip to the Movies

We went to see Cars after church. Mom, Dad, Nana & Grant all went to the Theater and 1 movie, 4 cokes, 1 popcorn, 5 trips to the bathroom later (well we saw most of the movie). We got a really cute photo, but it is on Nana's camera and I will post it when I get it...

6.9.06 - Zoo Trip

Today we went to the Zoo with Mark, Ethan and Carlie. Mom had a great time getting to catch up with her friend April and the kiddos had a great time playing together, and enjoying the animals. We really enjoy having our membership to the Zoo. It has been a great investment. I belive Grant has been more in the last year than I went during my entire childhood. I love this photo, Grant really loves the elephants.

6.6.06 - First Swimming Lesson

Today was Grant's first swimming lesson of this summer. He did great! I can't believe how much he retained from last year and how much more confident he is this year. Hopefully he will keep up the good work and be swimming before too long.

6.3.06 - Spaghetti Warehouse

We had dinner tonight at the Spaghetti Warehouse for my birthday. Grant noticed the train go by when we were entering and so we walked over the bridge, bought tickets and rode the train all the way to the end and back.

6.2.06 - Friday (My Birthday)

We had a great day today Grant and I met Gigi and Megan for lunch at Pei Wei. It was great as usual, then Grant and I went over to the mall and took photos at Picture People (they weren't that great) but we ended up with a couple of good shots. Next we went to Toys-R-Us and Grant had a blast looking at (and wanting) all of the toys, as we were leaving I snapped this shot of him and Sparky (Yes it is Snoopy) Grant is in the phase where he wants to name things...all cats should be Pepper (like Nana & Paw Paw's) and all dogs should be Sparky (because of the dog from the Little People) He has even tries to get Zeke to respond (he is old and set in his ways). Anyway, it turned out to be a cute photo. We ended the day with a stop by Nana Beauty Shop. He was pooped when we got home and fell asleep on the couch. What an exciting day!

5.27.06 - Boating Talk...

Ok, while we were out on the water we were looking at the houses, and there are two comments that I would love to make
1) we rarely see people out enjoying their million dollar (at least) views.

2) What do these people do for a living! I would REALLY like to know so that I could look into doing that. Anyway here is one of the homes that I am referring to...

5.17.06 - Boating Again

We went boating again this weekend. It was alot of fun again but later during the day the trim went out on the boat and we were all worried whether we would have problems getting the boat out of the water without damaging it. We ended up not have problems, and luckily we used the boat ramps in David's Uncle and Aunts neighborhood we were able to creep down to their house where his uncle helped us disconnect the hydraulic line and were able to pull the boat home.

5.14.06 - Mother's Day

David took a couple of photos of Grant & I this morning before church. They were both so sweet. They went to James Avery and picked out two new charms for my Mother's Day Present. Everyone came over to our house for lunch after church and we had a nice time. (Sorry I have a few out of order)

5.7.06 - Sunday

Before Church we stopped at McDonald's for breakfast and let Grant play for a few minutes. I bet his Sunday School teacher appreciates us!

5.20.06 - Boating

We went boating with the Moore's today. We all had a blast! The kids were so excited and had such a wonderful time. We took a picnic lunch and snacks and rode around all day.

5.19.06 - Anniversary

Today is David & My 5th wedding anniversary. Laura called and told us that she was keeping Grant and Mason (they had a slumber party). David and I went to the movies to see RV it was a really cute movie and we really enjoyed it. David left a beautiful new willow tree people statue beside the coffee pot so that I would find it when I woke up on Friday morning. (He is such a sweetie).

5.13.06 - Emma's Birthday

We went to Emma H's Birthday Party today it was at Shauna's parents house and Rachel and her girls were there, they all went swimming in their pool it was so much fun.

5.12.06 - 3 Year Checkup

Still kinda have a rebound headache (YUCK)! We wore big boy pants today and before we made it to the Dr's office he had wet all of his clothes including his shoes...the day was off to a wonderful start.

Dr. Hammond is still out on maternity leave (try to explain that to a 3yo) Grant was extremely upset that she was not there to see him. Se is really the only Dr. that he has ever seen. Dr. Law filled in for her and she was wonderful also! She came in and talked to Grant before she started to examine him. Grant told her all about the fish in the waiting room tank. When David arrived at home he told him all about Dr. Law (I guess he likes her).

My best friend Rachel is working with her and She noticed and asked him about his watch. She wanted to know if he could tell her the time. Grant replied "well it is not dark outside" as if time really dosen't matter unless it is dark outside.

5.11.06 - MIGRANE

I ended up leaving early from work I started getting a migrane headach while we were eating lunch. We had intended to go to Laura's (Ma's) Birthday Party after work. Nana & Papa went to the party with Grant and later David and I went out there to pick him up. It was 7pm before I started feeling ok.

5.10.06 - Church

We went to church tonight and when we were leaving Diane Meyer told Grant see you later alligator and her turned to her with a disgusted look on his face and his hands on his hips and said "I am not an alligator, I am a boy!" We all cracked up laughing, it was pretty darn cute.

5.9.06 - Kayla's Graduation

We went to Kayla's (Grant's friend from across the street) pre-school graduation. It was too cute and afterwards we had dinner from Gringo's at their house.

4.30.06 - Sprinkler Fun

This afternoon we broke out Grant's birthday present from Emma & Hannah. They gave him a sprinkler ball that rolls around. It was so much fun! A picture is worth a thousand words...

4.29.06 - THE BIRTHDAY PARTY!

Today was the big day! Grant was excited all day, he kept asking "are my friends here yet?" It was too cute. The Party was going to be an outdoors golf tournament with around 15 kids that actually showed up for the party. Well the day started out with tornado warnings and pouring rain. We ended up having an indoor tournament. Lucky I found out during the week that it was looking like the weather would be bad and I spent Friday trying to get everything needed to move the event indoors. Thank goodness it went wonderfully!

4.28.06 - Birthday Dinner

We went to Pappa's Bros Brisket House for Grant's Birthday Dinner (we let him select) he loves to eat at the Bisquit House. I guess we are really lucky that we did not end up eating at McDonalds letting a three year old pick (he has really good taste). He loves the beef ribs!

4.26.06 - Church

Went to Church tonight Laura brought Grant. They had a party for him today at Laura's house. She gave him the cutest truck with a trailer and four wheeler, some little match box cars and four adorable shirts! She said that they had fun parting all day!

4.25.06 - Grant's Truck

David picked Grant up from Laura's and dropped him off at Grandma McKay's house. I had a denist appointment and afterwards I ran home and we assembled Grant's truck for the Party this weekend! He is going to be so excited. Did not do anything terribly exciting tonight, just spent the evening with Grandma. (I included a photo of Grant getting his truck at his party.)

4.24.06 - Monday Night Astro's Game

Well another fun night in the week of Grant! On Sunday night David told him that when we pick him up from Laura's tomorrow that we have a suprise for him (and that suprise is tickets to an Astro's game). We will all go downtown tomorrow for the 7PM game.

He was so suprised when we told him that we were going to the baseball game. He has always loved baseball so he was pretty excited.

On Friday night hopefully we will be able to continue our tradition of going to BJ's in Clear Lake for dinner and a pizzookie (pizza cookie) it is a huge cookie baked in a small deep dish pizza pan and covered with icecream! It is to die for.

4.23.06 - Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX

We went to Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX today. We saw on the news that Beach Party Weekend was not turning out so we loaded up the car and headed down to the Aquarium. It was alot of fun. Grant had a blast watching the seals, turtles, rays, penguins, and sharks.

4.22.06 - Lazy Saturday

Saturday mornings are fun for Grant. He is always surprised that no one gets up and goes to work and we don't have anywhere to go. This morning we slept in and then when we did get up we made pancakes and watched cartoons. It was a nice relaxing morning. We don't have any committments today and that is such a nice feeling. We are just working on trying to get ready for Grant's birthday party next weekend.

4.21.06 - At Home with Grant

Today we spent a lazy day around the house. When we woke up it was storming, but from the news reports last night we expected the poor weather. We have just been cleaning house and watching Harry P P Hotter and Chicken Little while David is working. I am going to miss having Friday's off when we start working 8's again, but it will be nice to get off early enough to still do some things.

Grant will be starting swimming lessons again before we know it and it allows for us to make it there for the lessons with Aunt Raynel. As you can see from this photo taken last summer, he really enjoys swimming lessons.

We met David at Chick-fil-a in Kemah for lunch and ran into Wende Kelly with Maddie, Carter & Beau. I can't believe how big the twins are getting! I stayed and the kids played in the playland while we talked. Afterwards we went to Walmart together and I must say I don't know how she does it!

4.20.06 - Grant's Truck

Today I went to get Grant at Laura's while David went to get the truck that we are getting him for his birthday. He is going to be so suprised, it is all that he has been able to talk about since Mason's birthday party in January, and everytime we go to the store he asks to go look at the trucks. We are almost ready for the party next weekend.

4.16.06 - Easter Sunday

We started the day with our typical trip to Church. David's mom came to our church because the Choir was singing a special and David is in the Choir. We had planned on my mom & dad coming over for dinner afterwards, but mom was really worn out after church so they went home. We ended up taking our Sunday afternoon nap and then we went out to David's Aunt & Uncle's house for a little while. They have a beautiful house down by the water. Grant had a grand time jumping on their tramboline with Lauren. They were being so silly. Grant was really worn out by the time we made it home.

4.14.06 - Houston Zoo Trip (Good Friday)

We went to the Houston Zoo with Grandma McKay and Lauren. Grant had a wonderful time showing Lauren all the sights. They really enjoyed looking at the Mingos (Flamingos) and Giraffes (the new baby was not out), Elephants, and Zebra's. It was really packed but it wasn't too bad and everyone was really polite. The highlight of the day (for the kids) was the lunch-time trip to McDonald's! They really enjoyed spending the day together.
